Cranial osteopathy has a vast spectrum of applications, from newborns to the elderly and aims to reduce ailments in the body that prevent it from functioning at its optimum level.
Cranial osteopathic techniques are very gentle and therefore can be used for babies, mothers to be and patients who would feel uncomfortable with the more direct treatments, for example people with whip lash injuries and other traumas or patients that are just frail.
Is it different to General Osteopathy?
Cranial osteopathy is an extension of the usual Osteopathic techniques.
Although it is called ‘cranial’, the technique is not only used for the cranium (head) but also directed at the whole body. In this way, it’s a truly holistic form of therapy.
